The Letter - A Kerry Love Story
A heart-warming love story set in Kerry, sometimes funny, sometimes sad, always affectionate. In a hard-bitten, cynical world is the romantic idea of “one true love for life” an anachronism?
“A beautiful pleasurable read which I enjoyed immensely, especially when I could associate so personally with the magnificent Dingle Peninsula area of The Kingdom. Tony has written something very special.” Weeshie Fogarty - Author of “My Beautiful Obsession Chasing the Kerry Dream” and “Dr. Eamonn O Sullivan A Man Before His Time”, distinguished journalist and National PPI Radio Award Winner for his presenter/commentator work with Radio Kerry.
“The story reads easily. It holds the reader’s interest and simply rolls off the page. It would make a superb audio book. All in all, “The Letter” is a good rollicking read.” Michael B. Barry - Author of “Homage to al-Andalus”, “Tales of the Permanent Way”, “Victorian Dublin Revealed” and several other highly acclaimed books.
The author, Tony McGettigan, is an Award winning short story writer. In addition to his short stories, he has co-authored three hard-back books with photographer Francis Twomey – “Beara The Unexplored Peninsula” (2007), “Lovely Flows the Lee” (2009), and “The Inhabited Islands of West Cork” (2012). Earlier this year (2014), his fourth hard-back book, “The Ascent of Mount Elgon”, a first-person account of his hazardous climb of a massive extinct volcano on the Uganda/Kenya border, was published by Woodpark Publications.
