Self Publishing
Step 1 – Quotation
The first step in the self-publishing process is to obtain a quotation for your book. This can be done by calling us at (01) 827 8860 when one of our staff will discuss your book, answer any questions you may have, and guide you through the self-publishing process. At that time you may request a quotation either by email or access our quotation page. There is no charge or obligation for this service.

Step 2 - Sending Files
The second step of the self-publishing process is to send your files to eprint in Quark/Word/PDF format. Please note that files supplied as PDFs must be to the correct size and layout and be the final version of your book, i.e. “print ready”. For further information please refer to our FAQs page. Should you have any further questions, please contact us. Step 3 - Page Layout/Custom Cover Design If you have not supplied a PDF, then the third step in the self-publishing process is to check to see that the text and images are properly organised on the pages of your book and that your book is formatted to the correct page size. This is known as “page layout”. A standard page layout is a layout containing no photographs, tables, or bulleted lists. Standard page layout is provided at no additional cost when producing your book with eprint. An advanced page layout (containing photographs, tables, or bulleted lists) is also available, please contact us to discuss further.

We can also provide high-quality scans of any documents or photographs you may wish to include in your book and position them, as you instruct. If you require a cover design, we will contact you to discuss your specific requirements. We will work closely with you to create a unique and effective book cover design.

eprint handle the assignment of ISBN numbers, generation of barcodes (if required) and author's copyright notice. We also handle provision of Legal Deposit copies to the following libraries: ·
The National Library of Ireland
Trinity College

  • NUI, Dublin (UCD)
  • NUI, Galway
  • NUI, Maynooth

  • Dublin City University
  • The British Library, UK

Step 4 - Reviewing the Proofs

Once your book's page layout and cover design are complete, we will print both page and cover proofs and bind them as a finished product so that you may see how your book will appear. This proof will be sent by An Post for your approval.

We would recommend that you review this proof carefully before passing it to print and perhaps get a friend or colleague to also read through it for you. At this stage any corrections or additions may be made. Upon approval of the page and cover proofs, we will begin the printing process.
